Round 2

So I just saw a movie - "The Fighter", featuring Mark Whalberg and Christian Bale.  It's about a boxer who overcomes his social and economic situation to become the welterweight champion of the world.  Pretty amazing story, and it's inspirational to see that, given the right circumstances and drive, anyone can achieve.

I'm trying to figure out my fitness goals.  Do I get mean, or do I get big?  One involves eating like a pig, one involves discipline and restraint.  They both involve working into overdrive.  Can I have both?  Get lean and get big?

I think for now I'll continue working on transforming my body from over 20% body fat to around 10% body fat, all the while maintaining my current musculature.  That'll be the challenge...

Here we go.

Now that I've got a template that's worth a damn, here we go.

My name is Andrew.  I plan to tranform myself.

Five months ago, I was an emotional wreck.  I graduated from a top 10 university and was working a dead end job for a little more than minimum wage.  I was going to community college full time to stay on my mom's health insurance.  I couldn't go out and enjoy spending time with my long term girlfriend due to lack of money and declining emotional security.  So, she left me.

Bad times, man.

Enter ray of hope.  I got a job.  Not just a job, THE job.  In my field of study.  The new American dream!

So I moved to the east coast, and here I've been for the past 5 months, reinventing myself.  I joined a gym.  I train in boxing.  I travel.  I do photography.  I'm taking fencing courses.  I even eat fish now, on occasion (big deal).

But, my transformation is just beginning.  At first I started this blog to chronicle my journey to create myself to be the man I've always wanted to be physically.  But, I just got the crazy notion to apply this little idea to every aspect of my life.

Let's see how far we can go, shall we?  Welcome to my world.  It doesn't always make sense, but the results kick ass.  As long as you've got the patience to follow along.

I'll try to keep it interesting for you.  But more so for me.

Let's get this going.

Alright, first post!
